They talk about funding issues for projects and resources and so forth on their youtube channel btw. I just don't think they have the money, the manpower or the existing engine or requisite expertise to build such an expansion.

There is nothing wrong with the idea of adding total war's miniature system to EU4 to allow the player to manage a battle in detail. I've been playing strategy and tactical games for over 40 years now. Total war has a GREAT war system but everything else is barebones/sucks.
